Get the blank pistons and drill them out to 8x1.4 If you can find the 8x1.3 conical you can drill those out but you would be better off drilling out a set of the blank flat pistons. Run 450/300 shock oils.

blank conical TKR6065
blank flat TKR6163
both will need drill out
GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
part# GMK0108
something like that
ill be giving the"conical a try this summer if i ever the truck back together.

Has anyone tried different sized holes in the same piston? I had been using 8 X 1.3 and had no complaints. I've been trying 6 X 1.5 pistons lately and raised oil weight 5(AE) in both front and rear. No spring changes were made. It felt a little softer to me, and seems to offer less lift from jumps.
8 X 1.3
6 X 1.5
4 X 1.5 + 4 X 1.05
They each have roughly the same surface area. How do you think the 4X(1.5+1.05) would react in comparison to the other 2 pistons as far as pack, or anything else..

Hi everyone, I'm almost finished building my SCT 410.3 and it is looking great. This is my first SCT and I'm wondering how the performance of a Tekin 1850 kV on 4S would compare with the 4000+ kV motors people run on 2S? I don't want to deal with overheating issues that can occur on the lower voltage set ups. I've been busy reading this thread and I am about halfway through and I appreciate all the valuable information it contains. There is a couple of mentions about this motor within but not talking specifically about its performance. Kind wishes, ~Tom

I'm currently running the Tekin 4300Kv on 2s and have no issues with heat, 2s voltage does put more strain on the battery life though. If you get a good high Mah 2s battery you will be fine unless you are just looking to bash, then the 4s / 1850Kv set up is worth a shot.

Thanks for the information Eric! Actually no one has mentioned cell count where I race so I have my buggy on a 1400 kV 6S using old 30C batteries from about year 2012 which are still running strong. I have not asked for permission to use that set up, but rather if I ever get in trouble, I will seek forgiveness! Hoping for the same strategy with SCT. Just looking for average speed to keep up with the average racer but me using inexpensive medium C 4S batteries. ~Tom

I had the Tiken 4300HD which used to run hot. Then switched to the hobby wing 3660SD 4300KV G2. It runs way cooler. Both are ruining on 2S. Barely need a motor fan anymore indoors.

The Tekin Pro4 4300hd is a stout motor. I'm running the Tekin rx8 Gen3 also. Get good 2s Batteries and enjoy. Just gear it right and if you need a fan then do so, which I am. Currently running an 18t to knock down the torque.I feel this is as fast you need to run it.

The Tekin 4300 is a beast and drinks accordingly.

Hi Chaps,
Does anyone know where I can get a rear carbon fibre shock tower from? Part # TKR5584C. Everywhere I looked seem to be sold out so I called Tekno and they said they are no longer manufacturing it.
Cheers

They tend to break. I'd stay with plastic myself. Haven't broken yet and have lots of laps on it.

I have one shock I can't get to quit leaking. I built them as vented per the instructions. Been running the truck for about a year and about a month ago one of the rear shocks started putting oil out of the top vent hole. I figured the cap was bad so I put a new cap on rebuilt it and when you compress the shock, oil comes out of the top vent hole. None of the rest of the shocks do this? Maybe the bladder??
