Ok, Tekno experts, need a little help, please:
I didn't yet have a chance to drive it again (due to weather and work), but just dropping it down from my hand, from a height of a little more than a foot or so, the chassis did a loud, full slap on the floor. I don't suppose it's because of the pistons, since they are 8x1.4 conical, as required by the setup, with matching oil and spring... or is it? Or could it really make such a huge difference (since I don't think that setup is supposed to chassis-slap so badly) between vented and emulsion shock setup? In other words should I bother and try going back to the plastic caps, or what else could it be? Any ideas?

Go with the emulsion shocks, definitely a better choice. (use the stock plastic caps, they work fine).
And the LF springs made all the difference on my truck when I put them on. I use pink in the front and yellow in the rear.... and run 22-23 ride height on a fast track (hard packed but not smooth) ...game changer!!!

I'm pretty new to Electric RC'ing. Nitro is all I know from my past racing.
I have a Tekin 4300hd in my sons SCT410 truck. The esc it came with is a no-name and not programmable without some type of extra device. I'd like a good esc but since he's 8 I don't want to spend a ton of money on it. What are some good options out there these days that are good in the $50-$75 price range(if that's even possible).
We primarily race indoor. Currently I have the throttle at 65% via the Radio but, due to the generic esc not being programmable, I can't take out any drag brake and it's making him nose dive really bad unless he stays full throttle on jumps. Thanks in advance!!

Assuming new purchase, Hobbywing SCT Pro and use a glitch capacitor just in case the servo draws on the BEC hard.

My daughter ran this setup without a hiccup on her Tekno SCT410.3 before going to the XR8 SCT Pro version.
You will want a programmer, but if you like HW gear, the one will be quite useful all around.

Here's a couple shots of my dirty Joker after Thursday's muddy race. This summer has been my first race season and I really had a good time with my Tekno. It held up beautifully.

TKR8100 .4 ackerman
Can anyone tell me which direction the optional ackerman goes? Offset forward or backward?
Thanks

Shock talk. I see online parts say they work for the EB48 and SCT. I'm new to Tekno and learning what works with what. Is that correct that the Shocks from the EB48 are the same as what comes with the SCT410.3?
Springs - what's the difference in regular springs and the new LF springs?
Thanks!

The front shocks in the SCT are the same as for the SL and the earlier eb48s (.1 and .2).
LF springs seam better suited for rougher tracks, thats my take.

Hello to all! New to R/C, but after reading several threads here I have learned quite a bit. I love the SCT look and want to stick with that. After seeeing many threads on this subject, I feel the 410.3 kit is a good base for my build. I have chosen a few products to help finish the build and would like input from those in the know. I want quality and am willing to pay for it, but don't need super high-end. No real racing in the future, just want quality parts that will last and give good results. Here is what I am looking at so far:
Hobbywing Motor/ESC Combo-183.99 (XR8 SCT Pro ESC and XERUN 3660SD-3600kv)
ProTek RC 150T Digital High Torque Metal Gear Servo-119.99
Spektrum RC DX2E Active 2ch DSMR Radio-59.99
AKA 12mm wheel/tire combo
Please let me know if I should be looking at something else, what else I will need to get this thing up and running, or if there are compatibilty issues. I am also okay with spending less if the performance is there. Thanks!
