Any sure fire way to clean mud and dirt off of plastic parts?

Simple Green with an air compressor and some rag.

I was worried at first aswell but hasn't done any damage to my cars. I usually hit it with the air compressor first. Blows any dust and loose dirt away. Then spray Simple Green onto the car. Avoid electronics and spraying directly at bearings. Then blow off with an air compressor. Repeat again and if necessary use a toothbrush or small brush to loosen some of the stubborn dirt off. Then spray some SG onto a rag and wipe the car over. :)

I stopped using simple green and water it causes corrosion on bearings and hinge pins.

This.

Haven't had a problem. I don't soak the car. Just a mist.

And another method?

Air compressor gets 90%. Toothbrush for nooks/crannies. Then a slightly damp towel to wipe things down. I've never needed to get things saturated with water/cleaners to get things clean.

I take the cars apart and clean each part with tooth brush and dawn dishsoap when they get dirty.

Sticky kicks green works great for cleaning plastic parts and making them shine like new...

sanderson373 03-05-2015 07:01 PM

I always used baby wipes it shines while it cleans and gets in the hard places

Rico54 03-05-2015 07:06 PM

Tooth brush and other brushes little dawn and water drying right after with a rag. Don't soak.
