I know many will say SMC batteries are the best but, I've owned them and I wasn't blown away like many others are. I now run Turnigy Nano-techs and they have the same punch as my SMC's only at half the cost.

I do measure internal resistance and my SMC batteries each have one of the cells that has drastically increased in resistance. One cell will read 3mOhm and the other will be 55mOhm, not exactly balanced. To be fair, I never measured them when new but, if they are now bad, they went bad in less than 6 months.

My Nano-Techs are still balanced after about 8 months.

I only ever balance charge my packs and at the end of the race day I storage charge them as well. I take great care with my packs.

Love my Venom batteries. I've tried a couple other brands including SMC and the Venom's just out perform them, don't seem to "fall off" as much/feel the same pretty much till voltage cutoff, and have a much nicer, stronger casing. Venom also has a pretty great warranty program. My 5000mah 40c was $68 which isn't too outrageous and like I think they are worth the extra money compared to something like SMC.
