os rg is great for the money.

also do not forget the pipe for it.
this is a list of pipes i have tried on the rg in order of preformance.

1. fioroni ot ma03 best all around for me
2. os t2050 (best fuel mileage real close all around to the fioroni)
3. power racing 086 (the rb 9886 is supposed to be better)
4. jammin jp1
5. ths tourqe

all the pipes worked well but the fioroni was the smoothest and had the most top end at least for me.

Well there arent alot of engines for under $175. I've got a Hyper 21 8port race that is right around $175 and I really like it, its got decent power, and it runs really well. The OS RG does seem to also be a popular choice, supposed to be really reliable and the power is supposed to not be to bad. You can get a NovaRossi P21BN for $195. I just run a cheap OFNA polished exhaust system on my buggy and it seems to work well. With my Hyper I've beat lots of guys on the track with RB WS7II's and Nova's, but thats all in the driving and how you use the power avaliable to you.

Novarossi makes a budget .21 now. PM nitrodan These forums and see if he's got any in stock. He's got good prices and is a very good guy. But yeah the os .21rg is a good motor also. I race with a cheapo motor myself. I find you can make up time with good driving. The problem lies in the guys with the better motors and no skills being able to catch up in the straights and triples. And when they catch up, they aren't slowing down before or in the corner and will take you out or tie you up, letting the other two cars behind them pass you both.

Good choice. You can't beat the price, and os proven reliability is awesome. When it wears out look up osrocket or rayaracing on google and you can make it like new again for 20 bux or so.

Dont count out the picco X3 its a great little motor for around 100.00 great for tight tracks but if you have any 200ft straights you'll need some more motor. Cranks better than an rg and lasts longer.

I've only seen Picco X2's that were short blocks for Revo's. Where can you get the X3 with a standard .21 size block?

Most hobby shops i've seen carry them. I know most of the hobbytowns have the non pullstart version for around 100.00 or so. I ran a stock one most of the year and a modded one for bigger races. I won the WI offroad Championships in oshkosh coming in for fuel only 3 times 4th pit on the last lap. Gotta love the little 3port.
I had 3 gallons on one that still has awsome pinch.

Sounds cool, do you have a link to a place that carries these? Piccos are known for long life.
