I like it. The slipper reminds me of the new Yoko 2wd buggy

Looks like it's a Long way from being production ready. I wonder if those pads behind the slipper are to adjust flex? Can't wait until this is released!

Interesting. The transmission looks very YZ-2 like, being that the motor shaft and top shaft are on the same level/plane. This makes it longer and protrudes into the main chassis, but it seems to work well for the Yok. And as everyone knows the Worlds is going to be on Astro so the design may have had a serious influence from that as well. Time will tell if it is meant for clay or not.

I think that some of the carbon fiber, like you see on the rear tower and bulkhead, will eventually become XRay plastic once the design is finalized.

I do ask we keep the XB2 to one thread though. If there is a better thread than this one please advise, the best I can tell any with much information is a bit old. Merging some of the threads to keep everything together is also an option.
The Xb2 is a prototype at this point, perhaps when it officially gets released an official XB2 thread can be created?

Yes, we've done that for others, seems like a good idea. One thread for speculation, begging, wish lists, bravado about how great it's going to be, when it is going to be released, etc. You know, a normal thread here.

Then an official thread when released and close the speculation thread, hopefully from someone who will step up and keep the first post updated with all the good info.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this does on lower/medium bite tracks...

this car pictured is clearly not designed for that, worlds is on turf, thats what they are going for. I feel like a saw a RM spy pic a few months back, maybe it will be convertible.

If you're interested in this car, you should also be reading up on the YZ-2. With the lay down transmission, the YZ-2 (and this proto) look like they're designed for carpet/high bite track because they push the motor farther forward than say the current layout adopted more or less by the RB6, B5M, TC02C or Serpent mm, etc.

Yet people who bought the YZ-2 are saying it's working well for them on clay.

I'm curious to see what Yoke specifically comes out with for dirt tracks, whether it's hop ups, a different chassis or a different kit altogether, etc. But since the motor layouts seem similar, that thinking may likely apply to this XB proto if you're intending it to race on clay, or other medium bite surfaces.

Who cares about Dirt for a MM car? Run a RM car. I have the Yokomo YZ-2 and it is very good on our high bite smooth clay track. Very good. It appears that everything is inline with how the layout on the Yokom is. I'm excited for this 2wd car.

Rumor say that this car can be built both ways. I hope it's MM only.

They have an xb4 2wd already for turf, I don't think they would make another, I'm guessing this car will work well on all surfaces.
