Team Durango new vehicules in 2015?

I am hoping for a 1/10th scale sct based on an 1/8 scale buggy. Tekno needs some real competition as they have the ultimate basher sct.

More photos on the DEX8 at the Toy Fair, in Germany.

That last photo shows why I won't be buying a Durango. They dropped all the nice aluminum parts. Everything is plastic on that buggy now. I bet they still charge a premium for the kit. I guess it will just be more profit for Durango. Very disappointing.

The only place any car needs aluminum is on the suspension mounts and steering bellcranks and of course the drivetrain. Towers and chassis should be carbon. It's the strongest material. Just stop using thin pieces of it.
What is so different about this car? It looks exactly like every other 1/8 scale car. 1/8 scale is like fruitcake. There's only 1 and everyone just passes it around. They are all identical and in no way innovative from any of the others. I don't get it. This isn't new. It's just got a new part number. Yes, I'm being harsh again but re-wrapping the same present doesn't change what it is.

Hobbico should not by RC car company first they bought the O'Donnell line and kill it now they are doing the same thing with the dingo taking a nice car and screwing it up to save them selves a couple dollars I'm betting next year by this time durango will not be around

being that i dont race, the car thats gonna get me around a track the quickest doesnt factor into my personal equation at all.....
Being that 1/8 race buggies are ALL good cars, my desicion is gonna come down to looks and part support.
Being that i like "high end/race" buggies in general im always gonna be looking for something that strikes my eye...
The dex408v2...That was one awesome looking buggy so i was looking foward to seeing this new car...
I wanted to get the 408v2 but being that it was basically out of production for a while now and part support is iffy, i didnt...So i was interested in this new one...
Looking at it, it seems "ehhh"....and the reason im commenting on the looks and saying "ehhh" is because the previous model looked so good.
It looks a bit wider/less sleek....and they did away with the "pretty" stuff/bits...and threw a stumpy body on it (made to look sleeker by a camera angle)
You dont take a Ferrari and turn it into a bare bones nissan gtr ....
......but, this is all a personal perspective....

That's a stretch. These are the equivalent of Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers that people are trying to dress up. No matter how much money you waste on dressing them up, they are fat copies of each other that don't really have much in the way of variety or appeal.

i hear that...
my ferrari/nissan gtr reference was meant more as a comparison of looks in the sense of the old dex408v2 having a sleek exterior, with the aluminum and anodized parts being a more refined interior (ferrari) ....and this new car being the bare bones gtr in the sense of pure performance minus the sleek lines and facny materials...
....... not to mention the same price point....At least dont skimp out on "the interior"
..............
Talking about Mustangs,Camaros and Challengers....I went to look at the new Challenger the other day....Man, that srt8 (blacked out) with the new hood was lookin' freakin GOOD!! Too bad it isnt like 15k less....

So as not to truly piss off the Mustang/Camaro/Challenger people, basically what I'm getting at is that 1/8 scale is the muscle car class of rc. There isn't any variety. They are all unnecessarily heavy but high powered. They don't possess any finesse or real innovation. I definitely would never consider 1/8 scale to be the technological super cars of the rc world.
