to be honest i havent used the stock chassis on my truck. i did drive another guys truck that had the exact same setup with the stock chassis and my rear end felt a bit more locked in, yet it still steers really good and is overall quite a fast truck. his center of gravity is higher on his truck due to electronics placement so there is a lot less body roll on my truck and having the shorty sideways smooths it out as well.

Could you post a pic with the body off your truck please?

I got my exotek chassis built and can't wait to get to test it this weekend. At our local track I have been battling forward bite. When I travel to higher bite tracks I don't have the problem. But around here it has been a struggle and I am hoping this chassis will help.

Default Ball cups

My friend is running the 22T 2.0 and he always pops ball cups off the RF. Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix? On my phone now so I can't do a search. Thnx

Swapping out the ballcups for new ones seems to help mine.

What was happening was I had to reduce my servo EPA to 97% because the steering links would hit the shock springs. Adding a 1mm spacer to the shock mounts moved the shocks into a more normal position and gave more clearance for the steering links so I could move EPA to 103% which works great now.

Made lots of changes to fix it with springs, shock oil, roll center, all for naught, now back to the kit setup!

I got to run my exotek chassis for the first time today. I can say I was happy. I had the rear grip I was looking for and had zero loss of steering. Other than swapping chassis' I made no other changes to the set up. Very pleased with this.

I've had good luck with yellow Mini-Spikes on the rear and yellow Vee2 on the front. I have yet to try the stadium truck Mini Pins but based on my experience with them in short course I would be a little worried about their longevity; at least in yellow compound.

I also run a T5M (I know.... ) and can testify that the TLR will tolerate a much higher grip tire in the front. I say this because a lot of the guys at my track believe in clipping and gluing the outsides of the fronts. Be sure to try your 22T as-is before you do the same no matter how adamant others at your track are. All 22T at my track are running a full or nearly-full tread front tire.

To add my $0.02 to the discussion on 22T performance:

I had been running a 22T at my local indoor carpet track for a number of months. For no other reason than to try something different, I recently picked up a T5M and sidelined the TLR. A few of us played with the setup on the AE but simply could not get it in line with my driving style. It was fast but it seemed twitchy and unstable near its limits.

On the other hand, the 22T remains very stable and predictable when pushed hard.

I think the kit-setup is about as good as its going to get for me. I will change setups from time to time on my other stuff but I simply haven't found a need to on this. I really like how it drives as-is.

Off-topic: What are you Exotek guys running for a chassis protector? I'm assuming you either don't or you're custom-cutting one?

For a chassis protector I got the jconcepts full sheets and before I assembled the chassis, I traced it out. Worked slick as snot. I saved the backing for future use when I need more. With the 2 sheets I can get 2 full ones and piece together a third.

That what I ended up doing as well.

I converted to the Exotek chassis last night and oh my - what a beautiful thing! The fit and finish is extremely good. Couldn't be happier with the parts and the build.

I'm curious if any of you have the Exotek steering rack (v2) on your 22? In comparison to the stock plastic parts, the Exotek bell cranks are longer. My understanding is this will increase Ackermann but I'm wondering does this at all reduce the amount of steering lock on the outside wheel?

Are there plans for a 22T 3.0? Or did the changes that went into the 22 3.0 go into the 22t 2.0?

There are always plans

But I believe as others do the 22-4 2.0 is next in line for release. The 22t 2.0 just came out so probably another year at least IMHO.
