I'm not saying they can't have them. I'm just saying the true beauty of SCT class was the fact that it was low-cost, easy to control for beginners, easy to race without wrecking into other cars (being closed wheel), and was just a good way to get started in the sport and not spend alot of money or get frustrated from not being able to handle them. These reasons were predominant in why the class appealed to newcomers and helped revive the hobby. The vision of this class was lost when the industry tried to bring them to the standards of the other classes, with kits that were pricier and cost just as much to build, and the class became a pro class. I believe it should have stayed as a box-stock beginner's class. That's where SCT really shined and where they were more applicable. Truck on the other hand is more of a "driver's class" and is definitely a step up in difficulty from SCT. This is just my opinion.

I have sort of made out the kit set up by the photos of the linkage and shock position and pistons from the preview videos but does anyone have an idea on shock oil? I'm thinking 30wt or 27.5wt

I would actually check out Dakota Phends Nats winning setups for '13, and '14 for starting setups. On my 1.0 in mid-motor the Space Coast setup is on point. Going to try his '13 setup for rear motor as the new layout where I run seems to like rear motor. Should be good as well. Both setups are very easy to drive fast.

SCT still offers slower/easier, it just costs more than buggy classes (more expensive tires, bodies, shorter motor life).

The industry didn't do it, the racers did, like we always do. Supply & demand.

I watched the TLR SCB run in a rookie race tonight, now reading this thread it makes me think. The SCB body should be moved to the ST platform. New drivers like the realism of the SCT, and I think that ST body looks pretty goofy.

You should know I started with the MF2, and I've pre ordered the ST 2.0.

I use to run a MF2, I think was back around 2003/4ish. Francis was a great driver to.

I started racing Trucks with the Traxxas SRT. Still a good example of a modern racing truck. have not run it in about 20+ years. The thought of putting am SCB body on my 22T 2.0 makes me ill, no offense. I have pre-ordered the parts to convert my 1.0 that was recently restored to the 2.0. Cost a little over $15.00 to do it as just things I aalready had, and I'm not worried about saving 10 grams with the milled chassis.

@ Drift_Buggy, I love those old XXX-Ts, those are what I grew up on. I wish the new bodies still looked like those, the old cars look so much better IMO.

XXXT was definitely the best looking ST body of all time. Come to think about it I think mine was the MF1 (or graphite version I think they 1st called it) as when the MF2 came out is when they changed the body and I don't think it came with all the red parts. MF2 body below. Owned a XXXT to and remember buying it from Tower Hobbies.

I raced a XXX-T MF2 through college until the local track closed down. It was an awesome truck!

Yeah, that's right. It didn't have the red pieces, and the body was different, but I still liked it. I had one. I think the 22T looks cool too. At least the body is not super cab-forward like others. Francis also had a cool paint job.

No more arguing about ST vs SCT. Lets talk about the 22t 2.0. Go!
