Finally got to drive this baby at Coyote Hobbies in SoCal yesterday and WOW! Im running 13.5 M/M with the brass hinge weight. Im running the kit setup except 27.5 oil in the rear and this baby is one bad a$$ truck! I have the 1.0 truck and ran that as a R/M. I have spent countless hours tuning that truck to get it good and this truck blows it away right out of the box! Good job TLR!!!

I agree. I ran at a indoor carpet track today. Truck was built by the manual except 27.5 wt oil in the rear, alum rear hubs and ballstud mount, brass hinge pin weight, titanium turnbuckles at shock mounts. Mm with a lrp 9.5 and panther slicks.
It drove awesome. I ran mm with the 1.0 and could never get enough rear end stability accelerating out of the corners. I really enjoyed driving it today.

Got my truck all built. Build went well other than one bent drive shaft. I have some bubbles in my wheels too, but that doesn't bother me that much. Wish it was flawless but what are you going to do.

Ran her through some practice laps mid motor on a large outdoor track and it worked pretty good. She survived my lack of driving skills and didn't break anything. Got some tuning to do but was fun driving tenth truck again. It has only been 12 or so years since I last ran one. Found out that it is once again not easy learning where the truck is relative to the pipes.

From what I understand most people are running the box setup, but changing the rear's to 27.5 oil. So 2mm limiter in the rear with I believe orange springs and 27.5 oil, fronts are 30 oil no limited and blue springs, correct me if I'm wrong somebody.

My Fantom Racing Pro Mod Ion V5 8.5 is on the way! Can't wait to run this thing. Will be ordering Fantom's new 3800 100c lipo next week.

Specs are impressive:

3800 mAH
100c Continuous (take it for what it's worth)
156 grams weight

The weight is what impresses me, by comparison it's kind of the best I've seen.

Reedy 3800 207 grams
Trinity Titanium XL 3400 152 grams
Protek 2800 147 grams

3800 Should do well in this truck for mod ya?

For mod truck, I went smc 5800 square pack for the additional weight over the shorty packs. The weight did not seem to negatively affect me like it might in stock.

+1

If you're running 17.5 i would agree with saving weight. Being that you are running mod you might want to consider the square pack. It can help with stability.

Anybody got one of the new Finnisher bodies yet? I've been waiting for Amain to get them in stock. They have the spoilers but not the body yet. I would order straight from JConcepts but they wanted like $12 to ship it so I'll wait.

I think it is back ordered most places, $12 shipping isn't unfair for a body. I usually have my LHS order it and they match Tower's price to save me the money on shipping. They get it just as fast as I do anyway.

it should be based on the specifications between models. I would reference the manual to ensure the cvd's are the same length etc etc etc.

Yes, for modified, I run both idlers as aluminum.
