Is there a way to mount a motor fan on the truck in mid motor configuration?

Exotek motor mount should work for that.

WTF fan or any smaller 30mm fan.
I like these from Dynamite personally.

or larger

They come with receiver plugs that have nice long wires. Work well on 6V or 7.2V. I have direct soldered to the ESC as well.

Thanks. Will this provide good air flow with the motor hiding under the waterfall?

You should have no issue mounting the fan to blow forward on the motor. Now realize fans should not be used to correct for an over geared motor but do provide cooling to keep motor temps lower through a run to increase consistency of the motor. As I said I run this setup on my 22-4, 22-T 3.0 with laydown and my 22 4.0 SR right now and it works well.

Casper would you mind posting pictures of how you have this set up. I'm looking at my 22t 2.0 and just can't visualize how any air flow would hit the motor. The reason why I'm looking at a fan is because I had a couple of the fast guys at my track which is a carpet offroad track look at my buggy running a 17.5 Reedy Sonic and my truck running a Gen 3 Tekin 17.5T after I raced and my buggy was 2 laps faster. They said the truck was very sluggish. One of them said I need to replace my truck motor. The other one said perhaps the timing of the truck wasn't set correctly. I set them both with an Ammeter to free spin at between 5.5-6 amps. He fiddled with it and tried adjusting the gear ratio and basically said he couldn't get it quite right because the motor was running to hot and it needed a fan. They are both running ball diffs that were rebuilt before the last race. I plan to change them asap to gear diffs because I was told gear diffs are much better then ball diffs on my kind of track.

I don't have a picture handy and my truck is at home. I also have a 3.0 (soon to be 4.0 when I find time to build it!) but I basically have it mounted like this.

Should be able to do the same for the 2.0 laydown.
Might want to look into the "yellow rotor" for running that motor in the truck. A little more torque.

What is your current timing setup and gearing? What ESC are you running?
Also know last time I ran my 17.5 buggy was at least a half lap faster with 22 second laps in a 4 min qualifier than my 13.5 ST so hard to compare ST times to buggy times.

There is also this fan for 3 gear mid motor: https://www.shapeways.com/product/C4...ionId=61926790
Jason has several other options as well that fit and work well: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/mpp

Did TLR ever make a sway bar kit for this truck, or any current model sway bar kits compatible?

You should be able to use the SCT swaybars for this truck.

I am not 100% sure these would work on a 2.0 truck but I am not clear in my head right now why it wouldn't. Might need to update arms?
