Anyone suggest a good engine porter?
Looking for some comments on anyone that does engine modding. And do you think it's worth it?

For every one guy who actually knows what he's doing, there's 20 who just grind some stuff and thinks he's the next Ron Paris. Be careful.

and he does new and used motors

Wow, I did a little bit of engine modding for a while, but I was only joking around with a worn sleeve. Those guys are insane! That thing must me crazy to drive. I polish the interior parts of my engines, but never to that kind of a finish. There must be no loss in efficiency from the time the air enters the crankcase till the time it leaves. I would go with TNT mods, they look a little bit more professional. They tell you what they are going to do, and they seem to stand behind their work. RB looks good, but they seem too eager to try and sell me something, whereas TNT seems to make a point of making you feel as comfortable as possible with the modding process.

i agree less then a handfull that stand behind thier work like tnt ,and never ignore you ,shoot lol they will actually call you back if you leave a message and yes its insane to drive to be honest tried my friends old used p5 that was moded in his kyosho 777 and it was insane i had rb mod ,ebmod, but compare for yourself check the inside and you will be amazed at what some other modifiers dont do .

Wow! Looks great! Those guys really do look as if though they go the extra distance, or just have a really really good marketing pitch :) Seems to me the prior is true and I really appreciate the advice.

I really do think I'll give this a try at least, not like you can get alot of motor for $80. At least this way, the motor I have would suit all my needs if everything I've read is at least 50% true.

Aaron gave good advice!
Ed Bridges http://www.ebmods.com/ Jim Hottinger is another great engine moder but I don't have a web site. |
i agree hot mods aint bad ,but eb no way i had one engine that was so un balanced it vibrated of my table and neighter do used engines like tnt

just go on the net and make up a few sign on names and start commending yourself LOL great example was VRmods (search this forum) and u will see great reviews on him... also some very bad reviews aswell LOL  |
Hey guys, I see a lot of talk on here about modding used engines. While I understand this is convenient, I definitely would not recommend it. Many modders will not work on an engine that has been run. (I know Conrad Amezcua never would). There are too many variables. Also, keep in mind that if a brand new engine is modded, and won't run correctly that you have a valid complaint to bring up to the modding company. If you get a used engine modded they can just chalk it up to "the risk you take" when you mod a used engine.

wrong ,they still even stand behind the used engines also
