Ran the car for the first time last night, kit settings. Pretty good. Been 1 and 1/2 year since I raced off road, Touring car racer. The rear diff isn't slipping, I'm a dumba$$ and forgot there was a slipper clutch.
I broke 2 things on the car. First the rear suspension arm front mount. Hit a outside barrier pretty hard. Second, I broke the front outdrive with the spool. Speaking of the spool, the plastic outdrives can't handle it. The side that didn't brake was hammered by the dogbone pins in 5 runs. Put the diff in the front and the car steered better anyways. Also a hex in the front wheel was hogging out. Aluminum wheel hexes would help. Looks like touring car size hexes so I try them out.

Cool car though, will race it tomorrow night. Everyone at the track was excited to see the car.

Yeah ,it was a bit boxy , I just milled it out , but all the new ones are cnc cut and look just like the stock piece, and actually are a little bit thinner in the middle . Hopefully this big snowstorm we are getting doen't mess things up

It's a little hard to tell from the pic, but it looks to have silver wheels and "platinum" shocks. If so, it's probably a Turbo Ultima. Check Ebay, there are some collectors of vintage RC cars out there.

To anyone that has a brushless system and this car. I have the Novak SS+ 5800 boat anchor ESC and it basically takes the space of both the ESC and where the receiver is supposed to go. You can't really stack stuff because the body is so low on the sides.

I'm going to have to strap the receiver to the upper brace behind the antenna mount.

The only thing I wished I had done differently so far is when Iw as cutting down the body. My advice is to not cut along the bottom side marked edge until you can tell how all your electrics are doing to fit. Then you can cut the bottom (sides) of the body to fit that height.

I'm not seeing the new aluminum brace anywhere on this thread. Did I miss it in one of the posts? Could someone re-post it please?

See the link in his post. If you just want to see the same pics we saw. They look beefy!

Default brushless setup

I run the GTB and the 5.5 and run my spektrum reciever on it's side
between the servo and the GTB. It's a tight fit!

zakklp, I was looking to get a GTB. Does the heatsink fan on top hit the body, or is there enough clearance?

Default GTB

You have to take the fan off. It won't fit under the body. Mine
doesn't get hot and seems to work great.
