Post Rustler vxl upgrades

Hello everyone. I am really new to this hobby, and I just bought a Traxxas Rustler vxl with a 3s 5000 lipo and the traxxas charger. Can someone please tell me what I have to do to the car to be able to use the 3s lipo battery. I heard people talking about fans and shocks and other stuff. Or will it be able to run with the lipo battery the way it is? Also, I know I cant use the stock tires on pavement, or they will burn up, but can I use them on the beach and in mud, or do I need to buy special tires.
Thanks.

Traxxas page says to fit 31/76 gearing.

https://traxxas.com/products/models/...lervxl?t=specs

Keep your eye on temps of motor and esc, fans/heatsinks may be required.

Tires will be fine wherever, but will wear out very quickly on tarmac/concerte.

Running a 2s battery will cause much less wear, breakages and temperature issues. Will probably be more fun to drive too.

I think you mean MORE wear, breakages, and temperature issues. Putting in a faster motor or a 3s battery just means you can drive into the curb/lamp post/etc faster. Not saying the OP will do that, but more speed/power will put more strain on the car, not less.

OP: You asked your question at 1 in the morning. Please realize people sleep during this time and are not always on the forums... And having an attitude about it probably won't get you much help from anybody.

You may have better luck asking on the traxxas forums.

31/76 on 3s is for speed runs only!

If your bashing start with stock spur gear, 19t pinion and en esc fan.

Keep an eye on temps and adjust gearing accordingly.

Keep the gearing low and have fun, buy rpm parts as stock parts break. It's made to bash.

What pisses me off is that alot of these 1st timers don't do ONE ounce of homework themselves....forums like this with TONS of information on hand but why look when you can start a thread and ask.
The ever popular RTFM, Google, manufacturers homepage, even youtube are other options that can get almost any answer you're seeking.

No, they want everything handed to them now so they don't have to actually look for it themselves.

Have patience, man! You posted close to midnight on a Saturday night, and waited a grand total of 1 hour and 40 minutes before throwing in the hat? Welcome to the Internet.
