Both cars are awesome on high bite clay, just depends on what your looking for? If the track has a tendency to dry out, the DT will be the better choice, if it stays consistently high the CA will give you more corner speed, at the expense of losing a little rear grip (can be mitigated some by cleverly placing 5 gram weights under the transmission housing). I have and run both. The CA when the track is wet and gooey, then change to the DT when it starts to dry up (The people running my local track are notorious for letting the track dry up to very low dusty clay conditions). Driving styles obviously change a bit as the CA has more inherent corner speed (you need to keep the forward momentum up), but it's an easy curve to learn.

Default excellent value?

Looking at the manual/build, kit seems to come with every possible alu hop-up option out of the box. From my rough calculations, it's got to be near $200.00 worth of add-ons included for an extra $50.00 in kit cost.

Not a bad value. And...the parts are cheaper than AE's? Wow...

Is it possible to run the laydown transmission in the DT car? Are the chassis the same?

My 2nd hand YZ2 CA Edition came with a gear diff and ball diff. Is there a preference of diff for 17.5 stock class on medium bite clay? When I install the ball diff, there is some side to side play for the diff when the housing is put together. Can anyone recommend what diff shims will work for the outdrives? My local shop doesnt stock yokomo but I can order online or if another manufacturer's shims work (i.e. AE) I can pick them up locally. Thanks!

I bought my YZ-2 CA used from someone on RCTech. He included a ball diff (looks like its from the BMAX2) along with the gear diff that comes with the CA car. I dont think that their is a specific kit from Yokomo at the moment that offers both.

The shims you need, use 1 .02 on both sides and your golden.
