Anyone have an easy to drive carpet setup? Looks like next winter I'll be carpet racing as the local clay track is rumored to be done and the next closes track to me is carpet. The guys seem to run dBoots instead of Schumacher mini pins. I thought the Schumacher yellow mini pins were "the carpet tire".
If you still need a carpet setup, I can share mine.

Ballistic buggy white mini pin tyres are a good alternative and just as fast as schumachers, with the added bonus of lasting longer.

Well at our local track at least, the Schumacher is the dominant tire. The dBoots are a little easier to drive, but the life is 1/2 that of the schumacher. I just trip one row of pins off on each side of the rear Mini Pins and its just enough to take the major edge off.

OK I'm new to the Yokomo just about to buy one of these over the bmax one's.One question it will be run at a new track outdoor's that will be built over the next few month's or so, it's only a new club and to start with I'd say it will be groomed dirt and as the club get's going upgraded do you guy's have a setup that will be good for this track and what else should I purchase. Thank's any input would be appreciated.
ps' have posted on the bmax thread the same question but have decided to go the yz-2 road as every body down here in Australia seem's to be selling the bmax one's.I must say i love the look of the yz and all it's metal part's.

I have run Tekin motors and ESC's before..... Thats why I run a certified D4 and Advanced Electronics Black Diamond esc, because Tekin is good but thats it. Most of it is what happens in the drivers hand and what works for them. Cant dis them but cant praises them either.

I also alternate on carpet. In front gives more steering and generally better mid-air attitude, on the back gives more forward bite/drive when coming off a corner. My lap times are typically quicker with them on the front but there will be times when the rear-end is just too squirmy on-power so I have to move them back. The guys running the car in stock on carpet are front-always, I run mod.

In regards to the motors does it matter when you pair different makes? For instance I have an Orion Vortex esc and want to run either ReedyMach 2 10.5 or the TrinityD4 10.5. Will this effect the performance of either items?

I run them on the rear of the arms on high grip carpet. I tried some yatabe black rear springs with yatabe orange on the front tonight. Broke the onroad buggy record by .30 which was held by a cougar kf. Gonna find out how these stiffer springs jump on Saturday.Has anyone tried the yatabe purple springs?

Ive set it up for tonight with the same set up, but with yellow Yatabe to go at it again, but trying an extra 1mm spacer under the rear hub ball stud to try get a tad more rear sidebite.
Just trying to learn a bit more about it TBH as it works very different to most cars at our club.
