Default scuffed my front shock tower/shocks on my buggy :( how to protect this?

Hi guys

I finally got my rc8.2e running which is an absolute weapon!

I got a bit excited and decided to run it on the road where it flipped on me on 2 occasions and now I've scuffed the front shock towers and top of the front shocks...is there anything I can do to protect the suspension or this expected and pointless? I assume these parts would also get pretty scuffed off road as well?

It reminds me of when I first dropped my trail bike, after the first drop u forget about it and get on with it

A. Overall yeah, just accept it and get on with it. Shock towers are cheap.
B. Don't run on the street.
C. You can put an extra bolt with a washer etc. in the unused holes on your tower to help protect it, but remember that this will send extra leverage/force to the tower itself.

I was thinking the same thing. Or put it on a shelf....

Cant stay new forever if you use it. Accept it, get over it, or collect baseball cards...

Hahaha thanks guys for the responses...I took it to a local off road track for the first time and flipped it a few times more. Now it's well and truly christened.

I guess coming from on road racing in the 90s, flipping was a bit of an issue.

HPI makes these plastic shock tower protectors that are for their Vorza. I modded a set to fit on my Kyosho buggy and I used them when I ran on dry abrasive tracks. Not sure how they would fit on a RC8.

I've seen folks cut out custom lexan and attach them to the shock towers.

But hey, c'mon it's offroad!

i agree - after running it on the track & multiple flips, there is no point in protecting these parts
