Default B4.2 battery problems

I have a stock rtr b4.2 and bought a turnigy 3.3 2 cell 30-40c battery and it will only run for 5 minutes or so before the battery is completely dead. Is this a normal run time for a 3300 mah?

I used to run 5000mah in my b4.2 and would get 20-25 minutes until the low voltage kicked off. Are you balance charging them? How many volts are in each cell? It should be ~4.2V per cell.

edit: also, are you running full throttle up and down a street or are you running it on a track?

The volts seem to be fine. But yes I am just running it in a parking lot full throttle. I hope to run a race with it next Saturday but I want to make sure my battery will last the full race

That's probably why. Its best to have a few batteries if you plan on racing.

Just make sure you're not draining the battery but the the stock esc on the rtr has a built in voltage cut off so you should be fine.

Smc has good reviews. Anyone had any problems with them?

If your run time is that low there is either a problem with the battery or you are not charging it completely.

It was my charger. I have a new charger coming in on Tuesday. Hopefully I can get to the track Tuesday night to make sure everything will be working.
