Default HDX All purpose degreaser

I was at the local Home Depot the other day to pickup some Simple Green but saw Home Depot had their version called HDX All Purpose Degreaser for $1.98. Since it was a lot cheaper I decided to give it a try and it's just as good, if not better, than Simple Green...Just throwing that out there just in case anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative to Simple Green.

I'm sure it's the same as Jungle Jake found at Fleet Farm/Farm & Fleet.

I haven't bought Simple Green in a couple years.

I've been using HDX degreaser for a while now. Before that I used ZEP degreaser that Home Depot also sells for a buck more. I switched to HDX because it gets the same results and its a buck less.

Does it smell like simple green? It says "floral" but simple green really has a unique smell, and I rather like it. (I'm not huffing it or anything ) gives a refreshed clean smell to stuff.

And also... This is about exactly 1/2 the price of SG. Which can be diluted to easily 2 parts water to 1 part SG, making it the same price then. Can this be diluted without loosing much of its cleaning power?

Are you talking about use for tire cleaning/prep, or general cleaning of plastic parts? I use simple green for both. I worry about using dedicated degreasers like HDX on tires under the assumption that it'd take out more of the oils or whatever in the rubber.

Is that maybe not a valid concern?
