durable 1/10th buggy wings!
1 Attachment(s)
Tired of getting run over by short course trucks at practice and ruining your delicate lexan buggy wings? The SWorkz S104 rear wing is the answer for a great durable practice wing for your 1/10th scale buggy. $8.25 each from amain.com, comes with plastic wing washers. Shown on the C4.2 in white with the wickerbill cut down and no trimming on the durango 410. white, black, orange, yellow choice of color. They are a sort of soft flexible plastic.
I do not post often, but i think these are pretty sweet and something other buggy guys might be looking for. Attachment 1224691 |
Excellent for durability but the wicker pane angle is too acute. Needs a bit lesser angle to keep from being an air dam.
|
your prob right. but i think i want to try one of these for the racedays where im mixed with the 4wd sc's. then put on regular wing when we have our own class
|
Best wing for my money by far is the Vortex wing.

I have to ask. Would a more durable wing end up passing more load onto the shock towers and wing mounts?
When the crash comes, something has to take the blow. And no matter how skilled you are as a driver, if you share the track, the crash is going to come. For me, I refuse to paint a wing, clear is fine. I can cut one out in a couple of minutes and be ready to roll. I will settle for cheap enough to just replace it. |
The SWorkz wing is fairly heavy as well - no doubt the wing mounts take the energy from a hit or flop.
Xray have recently released new wings for the XB4 buggies - in 1.5mm and 2mm thicknesses! |
just ordered one for my dex410. i see now way possible for this to cause more damage than a regular wing. Not too worried about weight as i tend to nosedive.
|
remember the old school Academy wings. Very thick plastic.
|
Upgrade vortex is the best imo.

The LMR and RudeBits wings are lex an but thicker than most, they will bend but last much longer than normal wings.
|
That's also something to like with the Vortex Wings. They are the thickest of all lexan wings I've handled. The Sweep wing was close in thickness but the wicker pane was too steep and my 4.2 would wheelie or just be waiting for a slight bump and over she went!

The longest lasting for me has been the precut trifecta proline wing. Not a single tear thus far after 3 race weekends on my rb6. I also tried the xray 1.5mm on the xb4, that got some tears but is still holding up fine.
But that trifecta is tough as nails for 10 bucks. |
Like he said
You can fight it but your gonna loose
