X Ray XB4 is surprisingly durable, I bought just about every spare I thought I'd need, raced a full season (and I am not that good in Offroad at all!) and I used a spur, that was it.

Honestly mine..

Front sway bar sucks, I will give that one. I removed mine after being tired of dealing with it. The plastic cup is too soft to keep the thread down on the bar and it will in time slide out and be doing nothing but flopping around for you anyway. Version 2.0 needs a better suited plastic or something.

Shocks. I have blown the cap off once, and popped the ball out twice. It happens but it is far from chronic given the number of packs I have put through the car and some of the tumbles I have taken. And to pop the cap off the shock I had to cartwheel hard into a cinder block wall dead on at speed, so I got off cheap with that one.

Spur gear, that seems to be an issue of not getting the mesh right. The adjustment for the mesh is a little "odd" in the way it is set up and the space to see and do the work is limited, so I can see that lending to issues. But it is not an issue with the spur gear. I have had no issues and have tried a few pinions to boot, so I have re-set my mesh a few times.

The car is very durable, but no car is indestructible.

Chill, it's his opinion, and what's yours? Try to be more helpful and less critical....

B44 owns that thing....Lol

Sure any 4w can break, but the b44 parts are hanging on the wall & cost less then $10 for a repair ..

Having cheap parts doesn't mean its durable. The point was to get a car that can hold up, not one that can be repaired cheaply, and is really the epitome of what's not all that durable.

Bull, b44 is very durable Cva's & out drives last forever.

Been using my b44.1 for a couple years now and still have no need to replace those parts .

Put part for part against any other design.

Go ahead ,pay more for some other wheeler. Will still fall short to the B44 .

Ok, part for part?

B44.x vs. Xray or HB D413. Part? Front arms.

Go.

And the conclusive round of basher's choice, assuming he's not buying brand new, is the B44 ball diff to a gear diff.

cheaper to replace & just as strong.

Don't try to say the others don't break ,already seen broken arms from either.

They never had a spare available as well and had to retired early.

The point was to find a basher capable 4wheel... Which the b44 series with its weak little arms, ball diffs, and carbon chassis is really not.

Sure you could wait for the b44.3, but that haven't proven itself yet.

I don't think a overpriced clone will help any basher.

They would die before spares were available.
With a b44 they will be able to do simple repairs and continue crashN all day long.

Did you notice that no one suggests a B44(well other than George) or a xxx?
How about a zx5? Why.. because we ALL know those cars have issues.

But yet the D413 fan boys keep saying how durable that car is despite pages
of problems in there thread. Reminds me of all the people who bought XB4s and
just could not admit that the car was a DNF machine. Its sorted out now and
the XB4 is a good car. And I will definitely agree that once some things get
addressed with the d413 it has the potential to be an extremely durable car.

But the person who asked deserves an honest assessment not fan boy BS.

What do I drive...A Schumacher K1. and I would never recommend that car
for what he has in mind.
