Default SG shaft vs. Threaded Shaft???

I'm looking for an engine for my MP777... Does it matter whether I get an engine with a SG shaft versus a threaded shaft? What makes the difference? The MP777 manual says I have to get an engine with a SG shaft, but I don't understand why I can't have a threaded shaft.

Just so you know, I'm looking for an OS .21 RG that will be paired up with a Fioroni Turbo Sliding Clutch.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm using a duratrax clutch nut on my short shaft engine. But I think the sg shaft would be easier to set the length of everything. Had to space everything out a bunch on mine which probably means not to balanced.
