Has anyone tried running the active diff at the front? How did you find it and what surface were you using it on?

You can use a Serpent gear you just have to shim the outdrive on gear side about 2 mm

Yes ive run the lexan version and hard plastic. Both are extremely good. The lexan one obviously requires a clean driving style or you will destroy it haha. But it is a very good performing wing. I was quite impressed by it.

I was trying to convert my original XB8 X-ray into eletric haven't found a conversion kit. Only option I found was to buy the 808E parts any ideas from fellow fans of Xray buggy's?

Any suggestions on getting a smaller turning circle? I'm running the car mainly on a 1/10 track

I have it and my track is bumpy and hard pack with lots of turns. I love the active diff in the front I like it some much will try to active diff in the center which they sell for this car. The front active diff makes the car turn better and handle better.

What year XB8?...

If it's '14 or '15 there is a list here, but it's costly

If your talking about the old model XB8 then good luck

Drop front ride height, what's your current ride height? Bring front hinge pins all the way in. Check end points. That's a good starting point.

Thanks DrDamage,

I'll try dropping the ride height - currently it's at the bones level height. The upper hinge is all the way in but the bottom hinge is not so I might bring that in as well to try reduce the track width.

Shortened the wheelbase already, going try changing the caster. I managed to break the battery box so waiting for a replacement one to arrive.

Hey guys,

I just got my XB8e running and whet to grab a pinion for it...is this one of the Mod 1 deals? My pinion (15T) was very loud and just didn't seem to line up 100%. Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes it's Mod 1, the metal spur gear will make it sound more noisy then maybe you are used to, a brand new pinion should help it be a little less noisy.

Sounds good and thanks for the quick info. I did the nitro buggy thing a decade ago so noise was not really a factor, but now with these electric ones and metal/metal, it was a little strange (I am used to metal/plastic with the 10th scale). I know i have a non-mod1 pinion on there now so that is probably where all the noise is coming from. New pinions are on order.
