We have only every used shorties, because that is what we had coming from 1/10. I haven't seen any reason to deviate to full length batteries yet, and we still have enough juice with the shorties to make 10 minute mains.

Default Steering parts

Does anyone have a source for the steering linkage posts I’ve outlined in red for my ‘19 XB8E? Of course I can buy the whole assembly for $50, and as far as I can tell that’s the only way it’s sold, but I’d really spend $50 on something cooler. Maybe a part from a different chassis, or someone has a spare I can buy?
Not opposed to making my own, including cutting, drilling, tapping, etc. but don’t have a lathe to get it the correct diameter. I think unless the diameter is very close in tolerance, there will be a lot of unacceptable slop.

EDIT: I can’t add my pic and apparently I’m too green to add an external link 🙄. It’s part number XRA352505 at AMain.

Went from shorties to full packs, settles the car a little bit better on power corner exit. If I was running east coast bar tire tracks I could see running the shorties forward , but for rough West Coast outdoor, the extra weight helps

My advice is to try and switch from Xray. Cars have horrible resale value because a new kit comes out every year and price of spares have gone through the roof. I just saw a set of outdrives with a retail price of $49.99. Oh and team drivers are the worst in the biz. They have good marketing though.

Just helping people make informed decisions. Like anything people drink the kool aid and can’t really think beyond their bias. All brands have pros and cons. On another note they had to knock a $100 bucks of the xb8 2022 kits to get them sold. Always great to see profit loss at Rc America even if it is only a little. The price parity of the dollar and euro can’t be good either.

Why would you want to see RCAmerica fail? Or for that matter, any thing related to this hobby/sport/pastime fail?

Hey man, I can't afford a Ferrari. That doesn't mean I disparage the brand every chance I get, look down upon their drivers, and hope their dealerships go out of business.

The Hudy stuff is good. However the Xray 1/8 buggy’s are a different story. To each is own, but when I ran the buggies I got so many people asking if it was luxury and how I could afford to run them. They were the joke of rc at my local track and no one ran them. Eventually you see the light and move on.

As for them going out of business, I think its more just RC America needs to go away. It won’t happen but hey you never know maybe the sun stars and moon will align. They only hurt the hobby by providing all these sponsorship deals to people. Most of the time I am not of fan of Horizon Hobby, but since they eliminated the sponsorship program I am really starting to consider buying an 8ight X.

Let me know when you stop drinking the Kool aid and give up Rc America sponsorship Mr Tractagator.

Better yet let’s talk about what kind of deal
you have and the discount you get. I’m thinking it’s like 30%. So let’s see $49.99 outdrives at 30% makes it $34.99. Seems better, but still kinda high.

LOL. Not sponsored, I don't even race. Just a lowly pit dad.

Maybe your Kool-Aid would taste better if you weren't mixing in so many sour grapes.

Still waiting to actually find someone on this forum that runs the brand and is not sponsored by them.

Me.

Not good enough to be sponsored. Still think the brand is the best.
