Default HV Servo / RX8 Gen2 / Hotwire App Question

Just installed a new Savox SB-2274SG High Voltage servo in my EB48SL. I used the HotWire app to change my RX8 Gen2 Bec voltage to 7.4v. It worked but my Airtronics MT-4 is telling me the actual voltage is around 7.9v. That seems too high. Any feedback on this?

Well a fully charged lipo is 8.4v so it sounds ok to me.

The MT-4 will read the voltage put out by the receiver not the lipo voltage.

It the past when running the BEC at 6.0v my MT-4 will show voltage at 5.5ish unless running an external BEC or receiver capacitor. In those cases it will show voltage super close to 6.0v. Just not sure why it's showing such high voltage.

Its because the rx8 when set to high volt mode doesn't regulate voltage @2s. Youre running what the lipo is putting out. All 2s lipo ratings are stated at the nominal voltage, which is 7.4v

Ahh, so will the servo be okay above 7.4v?

Since its a high volt servo, yes.
