Default 2wd Slash build

Anyone do the 5830 converion ? I picked up a 2wd vxl and tore it down and now am rebuilding it ? Well won't be using much if any of it now. Going with no aluminium suspension so I picked up all the rpm aarms, towers, chubs etc. Picked up a new trans case (stock one) and of course the conversion lcg chassis. May be a big waste of money and is definitely the most expensive 2wd slash ive ever built.
What do you guys run in the diff ?
Trying to decide what motor/esc to run thinking 3800 castle setup since im running my tekin rs in my crawler.

I can say that some time back I put a 3800 in my daughters slash before I sold it. I could get it to pull wheelies, and on 3S I got it not so much to do backflips but to slam the rear bumper to the ground and wipe out in spectacular fashion.

The 3800 can do well in the 2wd slash, but it puts down a lot of torque.

Sounds about perfect. More options with gearing if you have lots of torque. New track is being built here (so says the rumor mill) I want to be able to be competitive but I wanna do it with a slash. I've had most of the other sc trucks but have to admit I've ran lots of traxxas stuff since my first sledgehammer in the 90's.

Then I started ordering parts. Well now its in Wyoming so my bro in law can run with my great nephew and the pede I built for him. So parts ordering continued.

So here's what I ended up building. Everything is new and cost more than buying one but what can you do....
Traxxas lcg kit
Rpm arms,hubs,knuckles,towers and bumpers
Traxxas aluminum big bores(still waiting for my progressive springs),aluminum steering rack, tie bar,vxl trans and spined steel cvd's,aluminum blue links.
Strc aluminum hexes.
Pro line tires and wheels but new traxxas bfg's waiting to go on.
Futaba 9303 servo, spectrum radio and castle sv2 and 3800 4 pole. (For now) looking for a tekin rs or rs pro.
Stock used body.

Do it. I actually enjoyed it but took about a month to gather parts. And I'm still waiting for some.

Yeah I've got 2-2wd Slashes and I'm running the VXL w/28 (or so)/ 76 spur, some RPM stuff, w/Anacondas and a 3 cell Lipo in it. We just run it on the street for giggles and it was clocked at 55mph. The only issue we have is there is way too much traffic on this residential street.

The year was 1992 when the brother in law and i were street racing. Me and my bolink sport and him with his ae 10l, when he didnt see the car coming on the cross street. We stood one on each end of the block to watch for traffic . I made it through the intersection first and he made it under the rear tire of a Ford Pinto.
I dont think I had ever laughed so hard in my life.
