Mugen mbx7 eco or Xray xb9e.
 

Ive narrowed down to these 2 brushless contenders
- Mugen mbx7 eco or Xray xb9e.

Can anyone share some light which are the pros and cons of these RCs.
I want to race on track.

I can only compare MBX6 Eco and XB9E which I own:

The greatest difference is that the XB9E feels more planted on the track,
the MBX6 is more loose in the rear.

Excellent cars both of them.

XB9E is more planted/ less nervous

MBX7 is more nimble/ can feel more loose in the rear

MBX7 is quite different from the MBX6 which has less steering and is easier to drive at the limit/ in rough conditions

both Mugen and Xray are excellent quality

to sum it up on a rough & dusty track I'd go for the XB9E, on a clean track with grip I would choose the MBX7

Same here. Ran both of those cars. Loved them both. I thought the XB9e was more stable, but the eco gets an A+ for longevity, parts wear and overall design. Xray parts are also ridiculously expensive.

So how woild you get the mugen mbx7 eco to feel more stable and planted like the xray xb9e???

I doubt that you can get the same feeling, you have to choose what is most important for you, based on the type of driver you are :D

Personally, I would go Mugen.

If your a fast driver and want a car that can turn some real fast laps, the mugen is a better choice. If you beginner to intermediate and want a car that's easy to drive, the xb9e is a solid choice. If you running on high bite, the mugen all day... loose track, they are pretty close.... IMO.

I currently have an MBX7 ECO that has just recently replaced an XB9E. I prefer the Mugen over the XRay. Remember, loose is fast. The XRay was too planted for me which seemed to drag it's rear through turns. I could never really tune that out of the car without going to extreme shock and/rear suspension set-ups which then caused issues with landings. The Mugen isn't too loose, but just enough to get a nice linear rotation that makes for great corner speed. I was not thrilled with the XRay shock package either. Right out of the box the Mugen shocks were so much more forgiving. The XRay is extremely durable with just two exceptions, the front arms eventually bow/twist and need replaced every so often, and . . . the out-drives :rolleyes:. Man, I was notching the out-drives up every 6 months. At $38 a pair, it was pricing me out of racing. It turns out the Hudy drive shaft pins were just too hard compared to the out-drive material. I used Mugen pins at the end and that extended the life of the out drives significantly. The Mugen is indestructible in almost every facet. I've heard of guys having problems with the front arms, but I've never broken a single part on my previous MBX6 or this 7. And as was stated earlier, the XRay parts are crazy expensive.
