Looking for input on the best brand buggy for stock 2wd., mod., and 4wd buggy classes, outdoor and indoor?

Buy whatever buggy that you personally like whether you choose it for its engineering' appearance or whatever buggies the guys local to you seem to be running (for support). All these buggies now are so dang good, unless you are a top pro, you aren't going to go faster with brand "x" versus brand "y". For 4wd buggy, find out which one of them is the most durable and buy that one. 2wd buggy, buy whichever one you are partial to. Ive seen every brand buggy out there at some point or another driven by the right driver look like "the best" buggy out there. Im not brand loyal at all, I just buy the one that I like. There are 4wd buggies that I would say avoid only because they have reliability issues but im not here to bad mouth them, they still drive incredible. The AE, Losi, Durango stuff is all very nice as well as Serpent, XRAY and some others. They are all excellent buggies. Ive owned brand X and was told that if I owned brand Y I would be so much better off....I wasn't. Ive been down that road and I don't buy it. Im a novice/intermediate driver like probably 80% of people on here, I say buy what YOU think is the best.

^^^ thats the best piece of advice, any of the popular brands will do you just fine. If you want to find your best buggy, buy them all.

2wd the AE would be my first choice, then the RB6. 4wd I think the Hot Bodies D413 will be hard to beat.

Make sure you check out the Hobby Pro USA PRS1 2wd buggy. It's a pretty sweet ride. www.hobbyprousa.com

also go to the local track you want to run at. See what they sell. YEah if xray is the best and you buy it, But your track or lhs dont carry everything. then you have ot order parts. SO parts availibilty is a factor also.

I just opened up the box of my new Schumacher KR. I'm very impressed with the quality of parts and build instructions.

The AE b5 rm and the Tamiya 503 would be my choice.

Of those 3 and your sure you will be primarily running stock I would concentrate on the lightest weight plastic chassis. It's hard to lose weight but easy to add it.

The Hot Bodies D413 is the future of 4wd buggies. If I was looking to get a 4wd buggy, that would be at the top of my list.

As far as 2wd buggy? They're all the same...

I'm a fan of the durango line, one of the more innovative options out there. They work well and win races. They are also very durable and easy to work on.

Durango vehicles are excellent race bred vehicles, but durable is not a word I would use to describe them.

Default rear or mid motor?

I'm also looking at getting a 2wd stock buggy and am wondering about the motor placement. I see kits available in both setups. Is this trending to mid? is it a preference thing. Whats best for first 2wd?

It's been trending to mid for the last year.

does the mid setup give more steering or better balance for jumps?
