Just got a T5M used and need to rebuild the ball diff and replace worn out drives. I have a brand new T4.2/SC10.2 ball diff kit (ASC9853). I see that the part number is different for the T5M/S5M (ASC91421) Can I use it? Are any parts compatible? It would save me another $50.
Thanks in advance.

That's a negative Ghost Rider, the T5M is all metric hence different diff.
Diff rebuild kit is dirt cheap.

Well, the b4.2/t4.2/sc10.2 out drives and outdrive bearings were metric. However, I think there's still a reason it doesn't work.

I had a hunch as all AE parts numbers were different but had to ask. I run the MIP pucks in my B5M so I probably go with that too for the T5M running 17.5 too. Plus MIP has them on closeout for $50 Thanks for the info and help guys.

This is on a T4, but I believe the spurs are the same..
Is everybody using AE spur gears, or is there a different preferred brand? I've got a bunch of ae gears and they all wobble so bad and a couple I can't believe they don't strip because I have to set the mesh so loose due to tight spots. Top shaft is not bent, it's definitely the spurs.

Just found one in the bag of parts that came with my last roller. Looks like a great product. Have to pick up some more. Thanks

Default B6 laydown

Has anyone tried or thought of adapting the new B6 laydown conversion kit to the T5m chassis?? I'm very curious as my local track is carpet and this could be a very inexpensive way to put a laydown tranny in it compared to the wwhd version.

I am also interested in this. I was looking at laydown transmission, but wanted to get more run time first. I just got the truck and drove it once. I live in vegas and am about to run at 702 raceway. I

I agree, I took the laydown transmission from my B6 and tried to dry fit it in my B5m and it didn't look at all possible without major rework of the 5 series. Also in the truck, even if you did manage to get the transmission case to fit the shock towers and such would have to be custom made.

You can do the ACRC box for like $60 and use the stock rear tower. Or just wait a little bit for the new truck to come out.

What spur & pinion for 17.5 On your T5M? I just picked up a T5M for practice & will be running 17.5.

Thanks for the help.
