My truck weighed in at 1800 RTR.

A friends centro came in much heavier, and after reduction, is still in the 1830 range.

Just an FYI, when I was racing the T4.2 it was 1765 grams (used a shortie)...

Now my hybrid T5M is 1905 grams (with square to get more traction).

Battery weights: shortie is 220 grams and square is 296 grams (76 gram difference).

Using all the same electronics, but added a fan to keep the motor cool in mid motor configuration to run the same gearing.

I'm going to ask the dumbest question ever...anybody know if the T5M will come with a 3 gear transmission? If not, why?

Rather than changing my post I'm going to answer my own question....I looked and it comes with the 4 gear and an aluminum top shaft. If the 3 gear is so much better why wouldn't they include it? Don't answer that question.....I know they need to make money.

The 3 gear is really only better for high bite tracks because it reverses the rotation of the motor to pitch the car forward on power vs towards the rear thus creating on power traction, so the 3 gear takes away on power traction and the car stays flatter in the corner; and for stock where there is one less idler gear and less rotating mass and stock doesn't have enough torque to really notice the loss of on power traction and a lot of times you want to free up a stock car which is why it is better.

The 4 gear will still be way better in mod for medium to low bite tracks and therefore most tracks around.

The AE three gear tranny does not reverse motor rotation.

Ya it does that is the whole reason they went to the 4 gear in the first place so that the motor rotation went the same way as the tires to generate more on power traction from the torque of the motor rotation. I do not mean the the car goes in reverse when you hit the throttle I mean the motor spins the opposite way as compared to the four gear.

Here is a good article to read up on that explains the difference between a MM 3 gear and MM 4 gear

Trucks are too heavy for normal stock. Should only run then in 13.5 super stock and mod...

Little bit more data on the +4mm D mount

• Used for B5M/T5M
• Makes rear pivot 4mm wider (requires flipping insert in D plate)
• Gives improved stability
• Recommended to use with #91609
