+1 minus the donor parts I know you said you had to mod the a-arms I am more worried about shock towers and also you mentioned the rear body mounts posing an issue

Matt Trimmings 05-23-2014 07:46 AM

It has t4 arms, towers, cva's and hexes, 22T front axle. The rest is all B5. I also had to use carbon fiber in a few spots for strength or to change how something mounts. It was a lot of work and nothing just fell into place.

It looks like they are almost caught up with B5 parts. I am hoping for them to release some info around June 1. That would make it roughly 6 months since the B5 intro.

If it takes them an entire year I will be seriously disappointed.

I just priced all the parts I would need to convert one of my B5's into a T5. About 200 bucks for everything including wheels and tires(1 set). I might as well buy a T4.2 and upgrade stuff with my spares(Front casters and spindles, rear hubs, etc…)

I noticed the wheel base between the T4.2 and the B5 are different by 6mm(b5 being shorter). Matt, how did you overcome this or did you leave it? If you left it, how was it mannered?

I used 2 B5 chassis', cut them up to make 1 longer chassis. It is about 13mm longer than a standard B5 chassis which puts my 'T5' wheelbase at roughly the same as a T4.

Just ordered a T4.2
I am going to run as much B5 parts on it as possible, however I won't be modding a B5 chassis like Matt did. Of course somebody at my local track said they saw a T5 on FB after I paid for my T4, but I bet he just saw Matt's truck. I looked all over FB and Associated's website and didn't see anything. Hopefully a T5 release won't be for a few months since I always get impatient and buy the last model just before the new on comes out.LOL:p

Here are some questions I posted in a recent thread. Please give some info if possible.

around here many more ppl will run ST that will run 2wd bug. we run on bigger offroad tracks that 1/8 run on and believe it or not the extra tire "cushioning" and more travel makes quite a bit difference when the track gets rough.

i love associated. and i will be getting a T5 when it comes out. although now that i got a durango ST i couldnt be happier. my favorite car to race.
