20/84 is what the manual calls for. You could probably go a tooth either way and see how you like it. But I've found the manuals to be pretty spot on anymore.

Default Servo recommendation

How much servo do I need for this truck? Was thinking Savox 1257 or 1258(running 1258 in my B5M).
I have a Hitec 5996TG but it's only 111oz and 0.10s/60*.

Probably order another 1258 unless it's not enough

1258 is fine! If ya wanna save a few bucks, go with the Protek 100SS @ $50.
I have a 1258 black edition in my truck and love it!

I have noticed that the T5M is much easier on my track than the T4 was. The track doesn't get nearly as rutted up and the jump faces don't get blown out nearly as much. Just a curious observation I didn't expect when switching trucks. Less track work is always a bonus

Anyone else have a problem with the threads on the turnbuckle ends? Four of the turnbuckles built fine but the other two had bad threads on the left hand thread ends. I tried taking a ball cup end that was already threaded on a left hand end and using that but it would not thread on either turnbuckle. Finally I tried chucking the ends up in a drill and putting it in reverse, applying pressure and SLOWLY spinning the ends on but that just resulted in the ends going on but are now stripped and wont move in or out when turned. I have built several kits and never ran in to this problem. I know kits have problems from time to time but I also had an issue with my B5 buggy where the outdrives weren't machined out enough for the axles to fit in.

I built 2 T5Ms at the same time. One had a turnbuckle with the wrong/opposite thread on one end, and the other had a turnbuckle that looked threaded... but the threads were all parallel (no angle to screw in or out). Luckily I was installing a Ti kit, so had extra turnbuckles to use.

Seems to have happened to quite a few people.

Looks great. OS .12 or .15? Too bad you weren't in Mich. I'd invite you over to run at my track.. perfect for gas truck! lol, that way I could drive it! Selfish, I know, but man I miss my gt2. Honestly, after a bunch of laps with the T5, I don't see how it can be better than the Gt2.. Although it's been since about 2008 since I drove one... If i hadn't got my T5 straightened around I was planning on doing an E-conversion of a gt2.. opposite of you!

OS .12 cv-r.

This compliments my 3 gt2's. One new built, one new built runner, one used runner.
