Kyosho Scorpion re-release

Oh, I really hope this happens......

http://www.area52.cc/news/4821-kyosh...se-coming.html

Next to the Gold Pan re-release, this is the one I hoped would happen someday. The Scorpion was my first RC car ever, and started my love of the hobby.....

I'll definitely be getting one of these!

Please say it is. Edit: I shot these pics at some event in SoCal, the rc10 wasn't out yet. That chrome one won concourse.

back when rc cars actually looked like they could be real cars...

I always wanted a Cox Scorpion when I was young. That's the days of the Bruiser, Super Champ, Grasshopper, Hornet, & Frog...

A childhood dream is about to come true :-)

RC Car Action has a link to it as well......where's the pre-order button on Amain.com??? LOL

I know there are some vintage collectors that are going to wine about theirs losing value.. Me, I could care less, even though I own a Virgin Turbo Scorpion.

I've also been building a Scorpion project car for past two years with beefed up parts.

There's a guy in CA that has been remaking a lot of the parts using aircraft grade aluminium on a CNC. Amazing stuff. I also mated a modern tranny with slipper on the rear. The purpose of my project car was to create a runner whose transmission wouldn't blow up. Now with the re-re spare gears will be easy to find :D

Now all we need is a vintage class to take off for re-re Tamiyas and Scorpions. (Sorry RC10 gold pans, would not be fare to have you in there)

Man that looks sweat I hope I can get my hands on one.:)

Very excited to see this re-re, I also had a Cox Scorpion back in the day. I remember it being so fast, lol.
It was be great to start a vintage racing league with all the re-re cars that you can buy again.

Those were fun times. People didn't cry like little babies when the track had low grip. It was called dirt and it was fun.

From Kyosho America:

This is the long awaited release of the retro vintage Scorpion, which was the cornerstone of the Kyosho off-road program during the late 70s and early 80s. Designed by the same designer as the original Scorpion, this new version is very faithful to many of the details that make it virtually identical to the original car, but there are some changes to increase the durability and performance. The shocks are higher quality with much smoother operation, and the spring pre-load collars will not snap like the old ones. ;o) The transmission is upgraded with 48-pitch gears and nearly all metal construction except for the compound counter gear. A sealed gear differential is driven via a modern slipper clutch to smooth out power delivery.
