Alright I need some help here

Ok. To begin with I have been driving rc cars for about 4 or 5 years now. I have a traxxas 4x4 slash, I have upgraded it to a brushless motor because I burned three stock motors because of to powerful of batteries. I also have it on 25% extensions to fit e-revo tires. My problem that I need help is I have just gone threw my third standered steering servo. Does anybody have any upgrade to help with this problem or advice? Any help will be greatly considered.

I think most of the problems come from running the truck harder than it was intended.

If you want a stronger servo though savox do have some good options.

I would also recommend Savox or Hitec.

Any name brand HI TOURQUE servo will work just fine.

I would recommend a hitec 645mg

It's better gear so you won't have a problem with stripping gears and has the torque to move those e-revo tires !

They go for roughly $35 and get a little over 100 ounces of torque

Hope this helped !

no, don't do this. that is not nearly enough torque for the car!

Uh, so you're recommending an analog servo (Traxxas 2075 is digital) that roughly has the same torque specs, a slightly slower speed but metal gears.

Really not much of an upgrade considering he's running oversized tires.

Turnigy 1258TG. And get a metal horn.

I would go one of these, reasons are there a great servo for a fair price.

I wouldn't go a savox in your application, the reason is the savox use a lot of power and if your using the standard traxxas speedy you may get brown out because the BEC isn't high enough, especially with those big tires, if your using a high quality speed control with a good BEC then the savox would be fine, if it was me I'd still go the Hitec listed above.

Cheers Justin

bang for the buck and being serviceable with parts from LHS, Savox is great choice even if you need to add a glitch buster or external BEC to use it.

This Savox SW-1210SG
is waterproof, cranks out 277 ounces of torque and is in the ballpark price or lower than what other are suggesting. Perfect for your rig I suspect.

Or you could try this 1/5 scale 487 oz bad boy... ;)

Get a 7955tg and be done with ur servo problems.

wittyname 04-09-2014 06:53 AM

yeah , 7955 if it doesnt need to be waterproof. The stock servos , did the motor burn up or did you strip the gears ? The replacement gear kit is 4$ , and you can get about $15 a piece for the 2075's if you fix them. Last one I did took less than 10 minutes... very simple to do .

I disagree, the Hitec 645MG is a great servo for the Slash 4x4. Ran one in mine for a long time and the same with my wife's slash. Faster than stock, more powerful, more accurate, and more durable for cheap. Very hard to beat on a budget.

While I would never suggest the 645 analog servo on anybody, I can see it being more durable than the stock Traxxas one all the same. Maybe not faster, but harder to blow the gears out of.

But as a whole the Savox servos are stronger and faster than the hitec servos at the same price and in the same application. Maybe that will push you into using a glitch buster, but still a good choice.
