Default Traxxas 2200kV vs CC 2200kV...same?

Is the Traxxas 2200kV motor (part number 3395) a recanned Neu-Castle 2200kV (1515)? I need a spare motor and was going to buy a Castle 2200kV for $170 but found several new Traxxas 2200s out of a emaxx for $110.

The concensus around my area is that yes they are the same. One is green and one is black.

There is one difference besides the color that may or may not matter to you: the wires on the Traxxas version are shorter.

Good catch!

It's going into a D8T. Based on other D8T/E pics it doesn't look like the wires will be long enough on the Traxxas. Oh well I found the green CC around $130 on eBay.

I know this thread is outdated, but it is the first thing people see when they search “Traxxas 2200 vs castle 2200 and I believe they should have the correct information. That said, Traxxas 2200kv brushless motors made after the year 2012 are not the same as the castle 2200kv. A castle rep told me via email that they have not made a Traxxas motor in about 6 years. (I have the email) A forum member and I confirmed this on the Traxxas forums after I blew up my Traxxas 2200 doing the same dirty work my castle did, we both discovered the Traxxas motor has a shorter rotor and makes up for this via cheap washers. Thanks for reading.
