Thats a nice setup,

Honestly there are a hundred different ways you can go.

RTR - Nice easy cheap option - Might need to upgrade parts down the road.

My amain build - middle of the road set up, lots of batteries and ok electronics.

Hoese's build - Great setup, top tier electronics - downsides are cost, no radio receiver and only one battery.

Only you can decide which setup is best for you and your situation.

Better because you wont get 1yr warranty with rtr. (at least I dont think you will)

My honest opinion, and i don't mean this in a negative way at all, If your pretty confused about all the options. I suggest you just go with the rtr. It may cost you a bit more in the long run but it will be a great learning experience and an easy way to step into the class.

Im personally not a fan of the castle stuff. Seems to have issues with their BEC on almost all their systems.

Thats not what I have seen in my area.

I have 4 Castle systems. Problems I have had are the on off switches & fans.
So I always cut off the switches.

I have 3 RX8. In less than 3 mos. the switches & fans were problems but what is worse is one the BEC went bad & the other the ESC went totally bad. So I only keep the 3rd one as a spare. Otherwise I am sure it would be bad by now. Just 2 weeks ago I seen an RX8 start on fire.
I race every weekend and have about a dozen batteries. My buggy & truggy get a work out. They are not shelf queens.

Just look at the warranty. If RX8 was that good then why dont they give a 1 yr warranty.

5000 is what most ppl use. That will give you around 18min of run time with a 2200 motor.

I did quick search on 4s lipo 5000mah. To be honest, I don't know what I'm really looking for. If someone don't mind posting links to specific battery, I appreciate it.

You'll need some tires, the kit comes with just wheels. I've had my FT for just over a year, love it. I went with the Tekin, the 2050 kv, running on a large outdoor clay track.

Good luck and have fun.

This is what I use - GENS ACE 5000mAh 50C 7.4V Hardcase Lipo Battery Pack ROAR Racing Approval (Direct).

You need to know how to solder though, so you can put your choice of connector on.

The ones i listed previously in my build are awesome bang for your buck. Again i havnt used them but for what the batteries are they should be an unbeatable deal. Maybe read some reviews on them to see if they are as good a deal as they seem.

These are great:

http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...product_id=175

You need 4S for 1/8 scale
C is Constant power. The higher the number the more power available.
C Burst means more power at full throttle.
mah (milliamps per hr)also the higher the number means longer run times

When you first start out 20C, 5000mah is good enough.
The charger you have will work.
