Anyone used the 4000KV version and can give there thoughts? Indoor/medium sized/ Med to high grip. SCTE 2.0 would be the truck. Thinking about trying one as opposed to my 4300HD, Have to dial the 4300HD down quite allot thinking this in the 4000KV may fit me better but can't seem to find much info on them.

Hows this motor compare to the revtech 4xs. I have a pro4 hd 4300kv and its got to much lowend and not enough top end and if i gear it any faster it gets to hot. So im looking for a new motor. Im torn between the zombie, rectech 4xs and the hobbywing. None of them are roar legal. Seems like the only roar aproved 4pole is a tekin pro4

If you read the thread from the begining, most of the people using this motor experiences very high temperature within few minutes. I dont know about trinity 4xs but hobbywing sd3656 seems to be strong, relaible(low temps) and cheap motor so far. Take it into consideration.

Yes this motor runs hot. I came from running a Pro4 4600 to this motor. Running the same gearing (15t) the temp shot up to near 200 after a few min. Switched to a 13t and same problem. Ive gone as low as a 11t and the issue is still there. Thought I was undergeared also and tried going up, no change.

Anyone try running negative can timing and then use the esc to put it back in. This will drop temp and improve the powerband.

If using a rx8 esc i would try running negative 5-8 degrees of can timing then let the esc add that amout back in to bring you back to zero.

I tried everything to get the temps down, and nothing seemed to help. Trinity even states on a card in the box that running the motor over 160 will damage the epoxy on the rotor.

Check the motor with a muti meter for resistance maybe its a bad motor might have a short in it.

I am liking this motor as it has plenty of power. Not as punchy as a Tekin 4300, but maybe that is because of gearing. I never had any heat issues and was able to lay my hand on it after a hard run. I am thinking the issues have been resolved, good to go.

Hey! My Tekno SCT-410.3 will be here tomorrow based on my UPS Tracking info.

I am very interested in these Trinity Zombie 545 4850KV motors. Back in the brushed days, I thought Trinity ran the market. And Tekin was in the dirt almost going bankrupt.

But things have changed!

Now I love Tekin! Don't kill me Tekin fans, and the Pro4HD is great.

But, I'm exploring my options.

Are these newer Trinity Zombie motors safe now? Looking for a good top-end, and decent bottom grunt. I can get a NEW Trinity Zombie 4850 for roughly $120 and $130 for a Tekin Pro HD 4300

I had a SC before I built a Team Durango DESC V2 Pro from scratch, thought it was great with a basic mamba setup but it was much lighter, and weaker then the Tekno is. That was 3 years ago.

I'm still fairly new to Brushless.

Thanks for all the help! I really like the looks of this Trinity Zombie I would love to try this motor, any one who has it, let's hear your positive options.

BTW, I bought a couple the Trinity HighVoltage "HV" 2S 6500 MAH, 100C hard case batteries. I will be racing. Quality looks phenomenal on these. These are batched / binned for best quality, we'll see how they are soon enough.

I didn't have any problems with it, but I have gone back to the Tekin 4600. I also bought some high po batteries, the Vant 7600 75C that should rock. I hope to get at least a year out of them in short course. You really need a 3s system in your Tekno, but most tracks are not on board with that yet. I run both 2s Tekin 4600 and a Tekin 3000 with 3s batteries. The 3s system rocks compared to 2s, cheaper, faster, cooler, and jumps tall buildings in a single leap.
