SLICKS; why or why not? Indoor E-buggies

I like slicks if the track allows as it takes the biggest setup concern out of the equation, but at the same time I feel like it takes away from the soul of off-road racing. I prefer a true off-road track that requires some form of knob tires and the ability to drive.
Our newest indoor is also going to ban slicks but they are making the track with a mix of clay and dirt that will require a traditional off-road tire. I like that decision a lot.
