Default NovaRossi P5 is running hot

Well i duno if its the humidity here in michigan but im Running a .21 P5 in my MP777 buggy. I got a gallon through it and it is running very good. Its really rich as of now and the performance is just fine knowing its really rich. But man i can only run a tank at a time then have to let it cool down becasue its gets around 265-275 Degrees too much. Im useing the trinity 25% powerblend fuel and i have a cheap duratrax temp gun... the little blue one. i hope its accurate. Is it becasue the motor is still new?( tight piston and sleeve fit)? or just the weather its too hot for proper running?

You say it is running rich but the bottom end might be too lean. If the bottom end is too lean the temps will keep going up even if the top end is rich.

What he said, and check your clutch. Running aluminum? Might have flashing and be hanging up, or the shoes could be worn and slipping to much.

*edit* You race at all? I'm in michigan also. Pheasant Run in Holly is having a race this sunday the 31st. One of the best tracks in Mich. PM me if you want directions or info.

touch the head if it too hot to touch for 3seconds then it prob is over 250f. but so long as u have smoke coming out u will be a bit rich side. novarossi and rb take about 1 gallon b4 there temp drop coz of the pinch.
