Banzai is pretty awesome. They always seem to have whatever Tamiya-related thing I'm looking for. Their prices always seem to be what you'd expect them to be... $240 for a DB01RR! Under $100 for a CC01! Under $200 for a CR01! $170 for a DB02!
They were a go to for me when I was really into drifting. Those specialized Japanese parts can be tricky to find. Shipping is a non-issue. Never had any problems with any Japanese online retailer come to think of it. The Chinese ones however (especially around Lunar New Year!)

Having seen that Tamiya are due to release the new TRF211XM in June, it has sparked my interest in the 2WD class again. I used to race a standard TRF201, then a 201 with a Vega conversion, but then switched to 4WD with the TRF503 (and sold the 201).
However, the off-road summer season at my local club starts in May, so I would miss at least one round before the 211 is available. That led me to thinking about removing the front diff/belt/driveshafts from the 503 and using it in a 2WD configuration. Has anyone else tried this? It wouldn't be ideal as the front geometry is quite different to a standard 2WD, but the mid-mounted motor configuration is similar to that found on the Schumacher KF or the X-Ray XB4 2WD, and the track it would be used on is high grip astro, so it might work OK.
I would guess more rear weight bias would be desirable, and I know where I can get a brass 45g weight that fits between the battery packs down the centre spine that would help...
Thoughts?

I have used them, and they provide a very quick service, and shipping was only 10 Euros to the UK. You may have to use Google translate though, as the website is only available in German!

Hey guys, just thought it was time for an update, I finally got around to doing a shorty conversion of my own, using a shorty mount for the HB 413( p/n HBS112748), & I have to say, I was VERY pleased. It didn't exactly go any faster, but it jumped & landed SO much better, & it shaved about 73g from the overall weight (now down to 1624g)...
Unfortunately, I can't seem to upload a pic of it right now, just got a new phone(the Samsung Galaxy S6, ), & I'm still figuring out how it works, tried uploading from it, but it failed for some reason, maybe too big a file size, but if I can get that sorted I'll post a pic of it...
