hobbywing problem?

I have a fuly charged lipo pack and bout to go out and run, what do i do? Drop the lvc on my esc to about 2.6? Or lower then see how much volts I have left in my lipo pack after it slows down and stops?

Will a tekin rx8 do the same thing if I use one of them?

Yes if it is a battery issue like it sounds, an rx8 will do the same thing. The ESC sees the voltage under load, and if you don't have good batteries the high current draw will pull the voltage down to lvc. Have you checked all of your solder connections? A cold solder joint will add resistance and not help the issue. Also you're running a 15
pinion? That's geared pretty tall. I would try a 13. Even with good batteries a 15t and 4600 motor is pulling a lot of amps.

i will get a 13 pinion and try it out, there the gforce lipos from value hobby 50c 6000mah. any other battery i should use thats not 80$ for 1 lipo

6500mah

Or better for that motor, 7200mah

Don't know if you run bullet connectors or dean or EC5 but you can get them with connectors if you want.

To be honest with you, 4x sc is not a good class to save $ when buying batteries. You get what you pay for. Smc, promatch and protek are what I usually run and have to replace them every 2-3 months. And that's after 2 uses every Saturday so about 20-30 cycles and I can feel them losing punch. And I never run them down to lvc and charge at 5 amps. I used to use nanotechs and gens ace which worked fine until I started using 4 pole motors then they puffed quick. I think your batteries will be OK once you drop your pinion down and lower the punch setting in the ESC. But with 6000 mah batteries I would be surprised if you get more than 8-10 minutes runtime in a racing environment with your lvc set to a reasonable number like 3.2v per cell.

now i get 5-6 minutes of run time, i will get a 13t pinion and try it out, i don't want to spend 70$ on the smc batteries and thats not my problem. what level punch should i run at?
#70
I'll set the punch at 1 and get a 13 pinion and let y'all know what it does

Wasn't able to pick up a 13 pinion today, but I did email falcon sekido and was told to recalibrate the esc and update to latest software, already updated so going to try and figure out how to recalibrate the esc and they also said set my setting to the factory setting and see what that does.
#72
Calibrated it, made sure I had up to date software, dropped punch to level 1, reset my modes to how it comes. Still same problem, at 5minutes it slows down and stops, I mess with the throttle and it goes again and then slows again, could it be a soldering problem?
#74
fan works, not to sure what kind of soldering job is under the shrink wrap, and going to try and pick up a 13 pinion

Since you reset it to default, I'm guessing your lvc is back to 3.4 per cell or whatever default is.
You need to set your lvc back down to 2.8 or even 2.6 per cell or you will not get rid of your problem with those lipos. Even people that have the best lipos pull lvc down from default setting in a 4x SCT with that ESC.
