Depends on who you talk to. I like the one I have and it really has serious HP. I don't need to go any faster than what this motor will go. Plenty of power to race at all types of tracks.

Many other motors are good to. You will see alot of differing opinions on this subject.

OS offroad engines have always been solid performers and the V-Spec is the fastest so far. Most people will say you need a JP or some other modded engine like that but the truth is many drivers don't have the skill to put down the power that those engines have.

I like mine too... however, I read a post where someone said the V-Spec doesn't last more than a couple of gallons (even with care and proper break-in) while the Sirios last 3 or 4 times longer.

Can anyone confirm this? I've only had 11 tanks in mine. Good so far

They have nuclear power. Most would be well served by using the small restrictor in the carb. The known issue with these is that the rear bearing can be weak. If the engine starts to sound like something is loose, get a BOCA bearing and replace the stocker. Should solve the problem permanently.

I would say yes the V-Spec is a very good 1/8 scale engine. It makes awesome power has tons of low end grunt. But do not plan on seeing more then 3 gallons of fuel. I have seen guys who are just meticulous about thier engines, always has a clean pre-filter, engine is never ran hot. Get 3 gallons out of thier V-Spec. I did see one get to either 4-5 gallons, it was not getting ran very hard. There has been I believe 6-7 of these engines at our track and all with the same demise. Dont get me wrong I love O.S. engines, they are excellent, but I think they hit a problem with the V-Spec. They are Powerhouse engines but short lived, you pay $300 for the V-Spec or $300-$400 for an Italian engine that will live at least twice as long if not longer then the O.S. Just my opinion

i love my v-spec. its really tricky to get tuned jsut right though. other then that its wicked fast and i love it

quick question what is a good temp for this motor to run at.

Anywhere between 220 and 280 F.

The O.S. 2060 smooths the engines powerband out, taking away a little of the bottom-end grunt. It's more of a mid-top end pipe . Still can't go wrong with either the 2050 or 2060.

They can last a long time. It is true some have gone bad within a short period of time but there are also people who have gotten 10-12 gallons through them. I have an EB Mod that I bought used and have put 2 gallons on since and its still got really good compression. I dont know the total amount of fuel through it so far but I do know it will easily go more than another gallon.
