Default Velenion 3500 question.

Just swapped out my stock Slash vxl 3500 motor for a 2 pole 3900 Trackstar motor. The truck just didn't seem as fast as it once was. When I spin the shaft on the old motor, it basically freewheels. The rotor hasn't come apart from the main shaft, I took the motor apart to see what the deal was. Is it possible for the rotor to lose its magnetism over time?

I read and saw a vid about some guys having the main shaft come out of the rotor, I don't have this issue. The new motor as well as all the others I have definitely have the feel of magnets going past the windings, this one just spins free but still worked OK?

Some motors just don't have that feel to them. Some are pretty easily turned by hand and some are pretty hard. Idk why but your motor is fine my velenion always felt pretty smooth.

The traxxas velineon is a 2pole motor, so that is why there is no resistance when you turn the shaft....if u want more tourqe u must get 4pole, i hooked a castle 3800 4 pole to a velineon in my hpi blitz and that thing was beast!!!!

I thought the VXL3 couldn't run a 4 pole motor? New Trackstar motor is sensored, it works so far. Haven't ran it outside yet.

Some sensored motors don't play well with non-sensored ESCs.

Mine wouldn't run a 4 pole motor.
