I tightened it as far as I could go ans still no lift. Any idea why? Running the Hobbywing XR10 Justock, an EcoPower Slingshot, and have the Airtronics MT-4. My battery is a Team Trinity 2s 80c (3400mAh).

Maybe I need to adjust the ESC "punch" setting, I left it at the default. Also, the battery wasn't fully charged. It was only in storage mode.

Not sure if those two things will make a difference?

Thanks in advance.
There is your answer right there.

Ahh thanks. I haven't charged the battery fully yet, I still have to paint the body. I did run it body less outside for a few minutes and it was very fast. Guess with a fully charged battery it will be faster.

Guess I can try that tonight.

I've been wondering about batteries too. I thought about getting the ProTek RC 2S 100C X-Light Shorty LiPo because the weight is only 147g (vs ~210g for most shorties), but the capacity is only 2800 mah and one reviewer commented on relatively high IR. I'm not sure if the big loss in capacity is worth it the weight savings. I presume a lower capacity battery will loose more punch quicker then a higher capacity (4000-4500 mah) battery, especially in a 10 minute main.

If I go from 2x1.6 pistons, 32.5wt AE oil up front to 3x1.4 pistons, anyone know of an approximately equivalent wt. oil? Maybe AE 30 wt.?

If my maths is right you will need 37.3wt to keep the same effective damping.

Hello! Could someone do me a huge favor and measure the exact distance between the holes (center to center) on one B5M wing mount? Thanks

(Between the two vertical holes on one mount for mounting on the shock tower)

I've been eye balling that battery for a while. I think it would be a good way to go because if you wanted to put weight back in for whatever reason swap the battery to a heavier one and done.

I could see it being close in a 10min main but it should be ok. I'm sure it would loose some kick towards the end.

10 min main? That sounds like fun. I'm getting about 15 minutes on a 4200 pack, don't know if I would make it with that battery myself. Luckily I'm good on weight so a shorty is perfect for me.

I don't see 2800mah being a problem at all for 10min. I generally use about 1000mah in 5min.

I don't like the idea of making the battery lighter. This is your heaviest part of the car, and is a well used part for weight bias. Lose weight there, you also lose your ability to balance the handling.

Eddie, love the enthusiasm you're showing. Good stuff and no doubt you'll get quicker in the short term.

I'd suggest you ask a few of your battery and motor questions in the radio and electronics forum and keep this thread as B5M-specific as possible. Use the forum search option as much as possible.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-electronics-137/

Having said that, Reedy makes nice stuff but no specific piece of gear will beat track time and good set up. Look at your budget and make sure you have money to cover your track practice fees so you can be a track rat. Good luck man.
