Sure.. "in general". Now, SOME diffs work just GREAT with ceramic diff balls in place of carbides. Why some diffs work and some will slip until you tighten the diff too tight, I don't know.

For example, my schumacher cars and my durango 210 could run ceramic diff balls without barking. Run ceramic in a kyosho diff, and you are going to have a hell of a time. If I remember right, ceramics worked just fine in the B4 diff.

(and by "work", I mean you don't need to run the diff tighter than you normally would to keep the diff from barking)

Just Rebuild my diff last night with Carbide Diff balls. Worked for 4 months worth of club racing and I only changed it because I was already had the Tranny apart.

I am running Avid ceramic balls with a ceramic captured thrust on carpet without any issues or barking.

The C alumn mount. Do you use a locknut to keep them down like the stock one?

I never had issues with the ceramics in 17.5 buggy. Most of the issues I have experienced are in mod SC. heavier vehicles with strong motors. All ceramics can work fine, but it can be easier for new people to set the diffs with carbides.

First race was tonight!

Stock buggy - qualified 8/10 - Finished the main in 8th as well.

Could have qualified as high as fourth if I only shaved 10 seconds off my run but multiple multiple crashes prevented that. But at least its attainable!!

The guy running the show knew I was a newbie and had me run the novice main right after the stock main. I won! nothing to be super pompous about seeing as it was a much lower class, but it was fun. Now to just work on smooth mistake free laps and actually tuning the car and seeing how it affects my times.

Everyone was super nice and helpful, what a great community.
