thanks for the quick reply. yeah, i didn't mean to imply that the plastic was terrible. i just feel like if i'm going to possibly crack this part again, i'd probably get something more durable. it hasn't completely broken yet, but i'm sure it will soon.

i just couldn't find anything on google (very easily, at least) that explained the differences between the aluminum or brass/bronze pieces.

as it is now i've just re-ordered the plastic pieces since the price between the different versions is minimal.

For most people its about weight. Plastic is the lightest, next is aluminum and lastly brass. Brass is only really used for adding a lot of weight down low. For "durability" alum is often used because it is not super heavy. That being said the plastics on the B5 are very very strong. It does not need alum anywhere, aside from maybe the rear hexes.

cool! good to know. thanks for the reply!

i emailed ae/reedy and they replied super quick saying that it looked like my battery puffed and caused a stress crack. that's crazy. :|

however, they're sending out a new battery! that's so awesome.

oh since i didn't see too many pics in this thread, here's mine prior to her 1st run.

ended up putting in a reedy sonic mach 2 8.5 motor w/viper vtx10-be as my esc with a Team Associated 29166 DS1313 servo. this thing screams. i really like the customization i get with the esc, it's a lot of fun. can't wait to get it out to a track!

I clean my arms & cups with Endust.

Keeps every thing smooth & a nice lemony smell..

Each day I spray some on a paint brush and polish the car with as well.

Rc
My team mates don't have any cups blinding, one did when he got his kit .
He replaced them and took more care installing them.

youve mentioned ballcups at least 5 times since you said youd never mention them again

What surface do you run on where you would run those tires?

If you're going to be racing, make sure you get tires and inserts that produce the best laptimes at your local track.

Those tires are great for driving off the track.........I have some mounted on my sons B4.2...........they last a long time, keeps me from replacing his tires all the time!
