Hi,

Gonna be running the B5m on a low traction track soon. The control tyre is the Proline Caliber (http://prolineracing.com/tires/calib...gy-rear-tires/)

Can anyone point me to a good starting set-up for the the B5m on a low traction track.

Thanks,

MiCk B. :-)

Shotries and a lightweight setup are basically useless to me. My stock out of the box B5R right now feels the best out of the three cars. Considering how hot and humid it has been here in Southern California 90 + degrees inside at the track! should I thicken up by a half weight my shock oils?
If you find you like a heavier car, which I do as well, then I suggest you only worry about making the rotating mass lighter (for stock only). Do everything in the gear box light (pucks, topshaft, gears, triad, etc) but keep your square pack and put the aluminum option parts on. That will keep you in the 'heavy' car range and give you better acceleration with the 17.5 motor.

Its "nervous" and stock springs which I believe are green? Correct me if I'm wrong. Using TLR 32.5 weight in all 4 and stock pistons and shafts and o-rings. I was thinking about getting low friction x-rings and find where everyone is getting those machined or tapered pistons or whatever they are.

sounds like your flat landing and maybe have your wheels turned into the turn on landing. Over jumping the landing with your wheels turned can spin the car out quickly. If your getting any "whip" in the air, it is worst. If you get some whip in the air, counter steer on the landing to prevent the spin. The B5 is very plush on landings and does not normally slap and spin with 1.6 pistons all the way around.

I pulled the trigger on the B5M. Sold my B4.2 to a buddy. Was going to wait a bit to see if they were going to release a FT, but had a good day of poker playing online to pay for this beast!

Will be building it while waiting around at the Wicked Weekend in GA. Went ahead and got the Al screws, brass C & D, Alu front pin holder and the lunsford turnbucks' any last min build or setup tips not already listed on the first page? Will mainly be running it on dry clay that is grooved but dusty. Starting out the the SMC 4600 shorties, but also have some Orion saddle packs I hope are still good to try out.

The box setup is really good. Only change I made was adding weight behind the battery. My saddle pack is very light for a saddle pack though. It weighs 267 grams and I have about 49 grams of weight added (1 3/4 oz). It helped calm the car down and give some more rear traction. Running JConcepts Rips in front.

Anybody?

If you have a 10.5 turn motor then go with the 10.5 gearing recommendation. Neither 3300kv and 3900kv are the same as a 3730kv. Not sure why this is even an issue.

I am picking up a Fantom Apex2 (same as trinity killshot I think). Does anyone know if the shaft will be rubbing the gear cover. I ran a Fantom D3.5 this past week and it slightly rubbed.

Does 21/81 sound about right for a 8.5 Tekin Gen 2 system? Gearing chart suggested 22t for a reedy 8.5. Main track is about mid-sized for an indoor track has a couple of spots you really need to accelerate quickly.

I just put these on my car. very good quality. hexes are nice and tight on my mip wrenches. They're not as bright as the lunsford but $35.00 cheaper.
Check them out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Team-Associa...item20ea3317f3
