Feels like most posts are regarding stock motor setups. Most people in my neck of the woods run mod. Love to see more folks posting their mod setups. Also, I find in mod running saddles is more consistent at my track vs. shorty setups as our track tends to dry out and get a bit dusty as the race night progresses.

I was going to use saddles as a tuning option, but the car slapped so hard everywhere. I had issues getting enough pack. And chassis slapping it like nails on a chalk board to me. The extra weight, do make the car feel more plush on the bumps and calms the car down for sure. I am running pretty stiff IMO shocks now at 1600. And i still sometimes slap. If I were running MM outdoors though, I would probably run a saddle, or just run the RM car. Probably the later.

saddles and sq are the same shape and weight. My saddles were 278 grams. My shorty is 214. A sq just has the built in balance port and you dont have to use a jumps, so probably less IR. Saddles are nice also, because they can be used in 4wd buggies. I used to have a b44.2, so that was why I owned a saddle in the first place. But now even 4wd buggies are going to shorties, lol.

Wild Cherry...I noticed in your pic that you have the ESC between the motor and the battery. Pushes weight forward correct? What are the pros and cons of setting up this way or is it just personal preference?

oh and congrats to mikey Hudson who just won the nw nct rd 4 series up in Washington.. he beat some of the best drivers in the nw using a b5m . this is only his 4th time driving the car. I helped him get it dialed in and he is loving the car outdoors.
if he hadn't had electrical issues he would have won regionals with the car too.

Esc in the rear instead of front adds grip and removes weight from nose for better forward traction
over all weight balance allows car to jump & land more level.

I would think the battery pushed back with the esc in the front would be more weight on the rear.

Retake a look , Esc is half way under motor guard.
Overall weight is just a few % more forward then kit set up.

Went back through front end and scotch-brited all the ballstuds and removed the o-rings on the rack, much better.....all im feeling now is a fresh car :-)

3 sets of gold barcodes with red foams in rear. (Just broken in, 1/2 way gone, and trash can tires. All the fronts match and are good. Just need front springs to finish setup. I wish I didn't sell my red front k-springs, have the rear golds still

That is a good gear ratio and what I run at OCRC
