OK let me get this straight we have at least a grand into are gear and are talking about baking the rims or soaking them. As long as these tires last I think i can drop 27 bucks on a new set. Maybe I'm missing something

Because it takes 10 min to pull the tires off without hurting the tire wheel or foam and Iit saves 27 bucks. Also at my track the tires start working when they are half tread or slicks sometimes the foam dies before the tire and I don't feel like going thru all the work to break in a new tire when I have one that is perfect already

I like to reuse the rims at least once.

Tire life at Trcr can he very short compared to most.
Right now ?

rear Jc dirt web $19
Jc Grey insert $13

Jc rim $8

If lucky that tire will last me 2 races , no practice with them either.
I run worn out tires for warm up.

Maybe some here can appreciate saving money so you can buy more tires & parts..

maybe not ...lol

Cut at the bead.

It takes a few tries to get this right...tried twice, didn't work out for me. It's possible tho.

Default Skin the tire off the rim..

I personally feel this is the best method for getting a tire off the rim. After you have done it a few times it is pretty quick. Clay compound tires are the hardest to do but still easily done. I learned this method when I switched car brands that required different wheel offset. I didn't want to re-invest in all new tires.

I have found you can do this at least twice before the bead gets two cut down to re-glue. After I skin the tire off the rim I will give the rims a short soak in Acetone to clean them up and re-use them.

Make sure you have a new blade in your hobby knife when you go to do this!

Good Luck!

Alan

No matter what anyone says, skinning the tire is way better then glueing back two half's of a tire back together again.

I only tried to bake off sauced tires once... it didn't end well.

Acetone for me from that point forward. never an issue with my 1/8 scale stuff though.

Oh yeah, this is just to reuse wheels...

Anyone tried out the strc parts? Just wondering on the quality. Also I see they have a full titanium screw kit for $30. I might just order 2 screw kits hell even if they suck I would have a full replacement set for $60

When I removed the old rings they had swollen about a 1/3 larger.
They were still fairly smooth & the stick was not really bad.

The new rings were smoother, a lot less stick.

But I been observering more air getting inside the shock with the new seals.

I experience less pump up with the swollen seals.

Just saying..

What factory team parts are the factory drivers using? How much does this buggy really cost?

Huh? Are you unable to live with yourself without having the same car as Cav? This car does not need anything extra for mod. If you want to run stock, get the RM car IMO.

They are mostly adding FT parts to the rear of the car. Al hubs, hangers with inserts, camber block, and milled motor plate. Some hard plastic/option parts spread around for tuning purposes when preferable. The Al parts are nice for ease of tuning and possibly some added weight and durability, but as noted above you don't need any of it to go fast.
