I like the MIP, nice hard anno finish and no need to use the spacer.

All 3 aftermarket alum topshafts are coated and eliminate the spacer:

AE
Schelle
MIP

Choose which is cheaper or whichever is instock lol

Do you guys recommend the aluminum top shaft for modified racing? It seems most people here are using it in stock racing to reduce drive-train mass.

Aluminum top shaft isn't required for mod but is a little smoother due to the machining. I don't know about the 1/10 scale as im new to this from 1/8th but in my past experience 3rd party performance upgrades to things like the drivetrain are usually a little better quality than the upgrades from the OEM. That may not be true here just what I have seen in the past. I have the MIP topshaft and it is great quality and only arount $15

Gullwing arms on my rear motor gave me WAY WAY to much steering.

Do the JConcepts Mono wheels for the B4.2 and RB5 work on the B5?

I know the hex is the right size but are the front and rear offsets correct?

Do you think you can handle the quicker wind up? You can be sure it will scallop after awhile. For this specific reason I ordered 2 MIPs. If you replace all the other plastic gears some what regularly then the wear may not be as bad on the top shaft - i'm just not a maintenance junkie lol.
